Roy E. Bucher, Jr.
Chairman, President & Treasurer

Businesses and organizations throughout the mid-Atlantic have relied on Roy’s expertise and advocacy for more than 30 years. Notably, he’s lent his industry knowledge to a number of insurance advisory counsels and has been influential in passing key industry legislation.

Since joining the firm as Marketing Manager in 1977, Roy has held many critical positions within the organization. A little over a decade after the agency associated with a national insurance broker, Roy negotiated a deal that would bring the agency back under local ownership and management. He also was instrumental in creating the ESOP, knowing employee-owners would continue to support Lunsford’s mission to provide the best client experience to their customers.

In addition to serving as President, Roy became Chairman of the Board and Treasurer with ultimate responsibility for company operations. Roy runs the company on a simple philosophy: “treat everybody well -- clients, community, colleagues, insurance companies and our industry.” The result is a well respected and prospering agency with a history of integrity and goodwill.

He is active in the community, currently serving on the boards of the Virginia Museum of Transportation, The Virginia College Fund, and Center in the Square.

Roy is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University and has earned the Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation.

 

Logan Forsyth
Executive Vice President & Secretary

Since joining Lunsford over 30 years ago, Logan has proven to be a valuable asset to Lunsford and to the management team. He consistently demonstrates steadfast leadership and client service in all aspects of the business. In addition to managing a diverse client base, Logan has oversight of three business units, Personal Lines, Claims / Risk Management and Accounting. He has added responsibility for the operational budget and is also involved with the continued implementation of agency automation initiatives.

He holds the Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation and has served on a number of non-profit and social services boards and committees.

Logan is a graduate of the University of Virginia.

 

Wallace Nelson
Executive Vice President & Agency Manager, Blacksburg office

Wally joined Lunsford in 1994 and shortly after was named Executive Vice President and Sales Manager providing direction on agency sales initiatives and mentoring agency producers.

Wally has developed expertise in medical malpractice insurance and manages key client relationships in the healthcare industry.

After graduating from Emory & Henry College, Wally worked in manufacturing, product management and sales for a worldwide textile operation. He completed the University of Michigan's Graduate School of Business Advanced Management Program and the University of Virginia's Darden Graduate School of Business Young Executive Program. He also completed work at The Levinson Institute.

Combining the expertise of a national broker with his hands-on experience in manufacturing and risk management, Wally helped establish marketing units in healthcare and construction.

Wally has developed expertise in the medical malpractice insurance and manages key client relationships throughout the healthcare delivery system. His experience in workers’ compensation issues has assisted clients in Experience Modification management and total cost reduction across all industry sectors.

He actively participates in the Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association, Virginia Associationof Non Profit Homes for the Aged, Virginia Healthcare Association, Association of Healthcare Risk Management, Medical Group Managers Association and Professional Liability Underwriters Society. He holds the Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation. Wally has been a presenting speaker to numerous organizations and has participated on the Advisory Board of numerous Insurance companies and Group Self Insurance Associations.

 

Lisa Harmon, CIC
Executive Vice President & Agency Manager, Richmond office

Lisa was named Executive Vice President after successfully managing the Richmond office for 10 years. She has been influential in the development and continued growth of Lunsford Healthcare Services, an operational unit dedicated to managing risk and providing insurance solutions to healthcare providers.

Her expertise includes counseling healthcare facilities and physicians on insurance strategies and maintaining client relationships within the industry. She also served on the board of the Virginia Society for Healthcare Risk Managers.

A graduate of Radford University, Lisa holds the Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation.

 

Robert D. Dean, CLCS
Vice President, Commercial Sales Executive, Raleigh office

Robert heads Lunsford's Raleigh office with over 20 years of management and sales experience. Prior to joining the company five years ago, his endeavors ranged from managing his own business in Greensboro, North Carolina to heading the sales and marketing team for one of the largest wine supply companies in the world.

Currently, he handles commercial insurance accounts for some of North Carolina's leading companies in a variety of industries, including construction, manufacturing, service and hospitality.

Robert is very active in the local community through both the Raleigh and Wake Forest Chambers of Commerce as well as the Home Builders and Shortline Railroad Associations.

Robert is a graduate of Wake Forest University and holds the Commercial Lines Coverage Specialist (CLCS) designation.

 

Tammy White
Vice President & Benefits Specialist

Tammy leads Lunsford’s benefits team with more than 15 years of industry experience. Since joining Lunsford in 2005, she has been responsible for the development and steady growth of Lunsford’s benefits division. Tammy applies her personal mantra – doing the right thing – to counsel clients, colleagues and industry partners on the best choices in employee benefits and HR strategies.

She is a member of the National Association of Health Underwriters and serves on the Anthem Broker Advisory Council for the Western Region, a select group of brokers invited to provide feedback and recommendations to improve and strengthen product, policies and procedures. Tammy has been active with both the Vinton Area Chamber of Commerce and Salem-Roanoke Chamber of Commerce.

 

Frances Garrett, CIC
Vice President & Personal Insurance Manager

Like all of us at Lunsford, Frances understands the importance of client service.

With over 25 years of industry experience, Frances manages our personal lines business and is responsible for all facets of the department. Frances oversees the continued professional development of our personal lines agents, creates and manages strong carrier relations, and ensures that we deliver on the promise of exceptional customer service. A past winner of the Outstanding Agent of the Year from the Professional Insurance Agents of Virginia & D.C., Frances brings award-winning work to everything she does.

Frances currently serves as Vice President of the Professional Insurance Agents of Va. & D.C. and has earned the CIC designation.
